About Your Bill |
An itemized bill for your hospitalization stay is available upon request. Your bill reflects basic room charges, including nursing care, meals and support services. Your bill also includes charges for special services ordered by your physician. These special services may include medications, dressings, oxygen, laboratory work, rehabilitation therapy, x-rays, operating room use or other hospital services. Insurance companies, including Medicare and Medi-Cal, do not pay for certain items that they have determined are personal in nature. These items may be provided for your comfort if you have not brought them with you. Included are items such as slippers, robes, combs and shaving equipment, toothbrushes and other oral care items, headphones for the television, etc. Payment for these items will be your responsibility. Computerized statements are sent out once monthly to keep patients informed of all payments and balances on their accounts. Medicare, Medi-Cal and private insurance carriers may not cover all of your hospital bill. Should you have any questions about your insurance coverage or your billing, please call your billing department at the number listed on your statement. They are open: Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you prefer to visit the business office, they are located at 5960 Pentz Road in Paradise. If you are not covered by private or governmental insurance, our Financial Counselor is available to discuss special financial arrangements or the possibility of qualifying for county medical assistance. Feather River Hospital is a not-for-profit, acute-care hospital. Expenses must be covered by payments received from patients and their insurance carriers. Upon verification of your insurance, we may contact you for payment of your coinsurance or deductible due. We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover Card, personal check or cash. We respectfully request prompt payment of your hospital bill. Professional Physician Billing Depending on your insurance plan, physicians involved in your care may bill you separately from the hospital. These physicians can include anesthesiologists, emergency physicians, surgeons, cardiologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists. If you have any questions regarding these bills, you should call their billing offices directly at the telephone numbers listed on the statement sentto you. |
