At Feather River Rehabilitation, we serve the needs of those in our community who have lost strength and functioning due ot a variety of circumstances.  Through Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Lymphedema treatment, we seek to assist our patients achieve their highest level of function and independence.

Outpatient Physical Therapy
A visit to the clinic includes a comprehensive evaluation, including an assessment of problems, the affect on lifestyle, and an establishment of clear cut and attainable goals.  We offer exercise testing and training (Balance Master, treadmill, Kin-Com, Sport Kat), conditioning programs, athletic taping, hands-on techniques (soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, and myofacial release), body mechanics instruction and patient education.  Modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, anodyne and iontophoresis are also available.  A warm water pool therapy is on-site at our offices.

Balance Center
Do you have frequent falls, dizziness or difficulty getting out of a chair?  Do you limit your activities due to fear of falling?  If you answered yes, the Balance Center at Feather River Rehabilitation can help treat your balance issues. Originally designed by NASA, the system utilizes a force plate and computer to objectively measure weight distribution, reaction time, gait velocity, and stability on uneven surfaces to precisely determine areas of weakness.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists seek to help individuals function in everyday life by retraining them in the daily living skills of feeding, hygiene, dressing and grooming, and also in job-related tasks such as writing, typing and lifting.

Lymphedema Therapy
Lymphedema is an accumulation of lymphatic fluid that causes swelling of some parts of the body.  Treatment consists of manual lymphatic drainage (gentle massage technique), bandaging to facilitate lymph flow and decrease swelling, exercise to increase drainage and restore strength and flexibility.

Speech Therapy
A licensed, certified Speech Language Pathologist provides an evaluation and treatment for those who have difficulties with swallowing or speech difficulties such as language delay, motor speech disorders, and cognitive-lingual disorders.

Benefits include improved ability to express thoughts and feelings, intelligible speech, improved swallowing function and safety, greater self-esteem and independence and overall increase in quality of life.
