Dedication for Cancer Center�s Healing Garden
August 4, 2003 � Feather River Hospital will dedicate the Cancer Center�s new Healing Garden October 2 at 1:00 p.m.
The new garden will be dedicated in honor of Del Stankoven, a long-time employee and volunteer of Feather River Hospital. Del passed away from cancer in 2001.
The Healing Garden, a serene outdoor setting is designed especially for the comfort of cancer patients. Patients at the Cancer Center will have place to relax and enjoy nature, while absorbing the benefits of a therapeutic garden.
The garden contains a variety of different varieties of grasses, trees, shrubs and bulbs, as well as a small stone waterfall with a collecting pool and stream that meanders through the garden. It also has benches so that patients and their families have a place to sit and relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
The Healing Garden is located on the east side of the Cancer Center building. Refreshments will be provided.
