Why I Choose Feather River Hospital

My heart attack was a real wake up call for me to do something better, said Paradise resident, Susanne Lightner, as she bobbed up and down on the stair master. The sprightly 60-year old uses the Cardiac Rehabilitation equipment at Feather River Hospital as ongoing therapy for her past illness.

In September of 2004, Susanne suffered a heart attack, which landed her in the hospital. Her Cardiologist, Dr. Jack Pierson, recommended she attend the Cardiac Rehabilitation education program at Feather River Hospital. Susanne now comes to the hospital three times a week for her heart-healthy workout. She says coming to the hospital and working with trained professionals is very beneficial.

I feel safe being here under the watchful eyes of Nate and Karen, the Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialists, said Susanne. They are very concerned about how I am doing. They show a personal interest in my health.

The hospital's cardiac program begins for the patient immediately after the cardiac event and continues when the patient goes home from the hospital. Rehabilitation includes a 12-week outpatient education and treatment program. Patients focus on regular physical activity, a heart-healthy diet, and stress management. Feather River Hospitals cardiac rehabilitation program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

I wouldnt dream of coming anywhere else, said Susanne. I trust the people at Feather River Hospital.
