Feather River Hospital has a unique service to the hospital--that is a special team of chaplains who assist patient’s and employees spiritual health. Hospital chaplains understand many people have different religious beliefs and personal codes.  They do not preach or force religion on anyone.  For patients, from the time they enter our doors, Chaplains are ready to assist the person's spiritual health according to their personal wishes.

Patients or a family member may request the help of a Chaplain for many reasons like end-of-life decisions, news of a terminal diagnosis, or other clinical emergencies.  Chaplains are also called for non-emergency situations, like praying with a patient or simply talking to someone that’s lonely.  Services include:

• Contacting your own clergy or faith group upon request
• Providing holy communion, anointing and intercessory prayer
• Supplying spiritual literature upon request
• Prayer/dedication service for newborn infants
• Providing emotional support during emergenciesOne-to-one spiritual and emotional discussions
