The Sleep Apnea Center at Feather River Hospital is a diagnostic and treatment laboratory for people with sleep apnea. Those who suffer from sleep apnea suffer from involuntary breathing pauses every hour.

Following a consultation, your doctor may refer you to the Sleep Apnea Center for a sleep study, called a Polysomnography Study. This study is conducted at the center in a comfortable, home-like, bedroom. While you sleep, a specially trained technician in the observation room monitors your breathing patterns, muscle movement, blood oxygen level, heart rate, eye movement, airflow and brain activity. Each bedroom has attached shower and bathroom facilities so you can prepare for your normal day. Poor sleep symptoms include:

Excessive daytime sleepiness and fatigue

Loud snoring accompanied by periods of no breathing

Falling asleep while driving or during other daytime activities

Waking with a dry throat

Morning headaches

Irritability and mood changes

Restless sleep
