Through an affiliation with Loma Linda University Medical Center, Feather River Hospital Cancer Center patients have access to the world's first hospital-based proton beam facility designed for patient treatment and research.
Radiation Oncology Modern technology has combined the use of three-dimensional imaging technology, computerized treatment planning and high-energy x-ray machines for patient's state-of-the-art radiation treatment. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. Our radiation oncology team utilizes CT and MRI scanners along with a three-dimensional treatment planning system to develop a radiation treatment protocol tailored specifically to each patient. The Cancer Center uses the most advanced linear accelerator technology to conform the treatment to the specific area of interest.
Medical Oncology The Cancer Center's medical oncology services offer the most advanced treatment protocols including chemotherapy, biological therapy, immunotherapy, monoclonal antibody therapy, antibiotics, blood transfusions, hormonal therapy, and other related therapies in the comfort of our infusion center. Care is provided by an experienced oncology and infusion nursing staff using the most current treatment regimens and techniques. There are six individualized, personal infusion stations that provide a comfortable environment while receiving treatment.
