Building for Tomorrow: A Construction Update
Though parking has been at a premium on the Feather River Hospital campus, it has been improved by the recent opening of new parking lots off of Peach Lane. Parking designated for employee parking offers approximately 150 additional parking spaces which will assure that parking spaces closer to the hospital will be available for patients and their guests. Also in an effort to take care of the physicians who serve our patients, 26 new parking spaces have been added for their convenience.
The Emergency Landing Zone for helicopters has been completed surrounded, with beautiful landscaping, impressive lighting and sidewalk access. As you may know, state-of-the-art, new septic systems were installed in three different locations on campus to meet the needs of our growing facility, leaving bare dirt above these large areas. In an effort to reduce both dust and run off, these areas have been hydro-seeded with natural grasses to create an aesthetic look.
Within the hospital there has been a great deal of remodeling occurring for new Radiology X-ray rooms, operating rooms, nurse stations, and patient rooms. In addition, fresh paint and wallpaper have been applied to the walls and new carpet has been installed throughout the main hospital, creating the feel of a resort hotel.
However, construction is far from being completed on the Feather River Hospital Campus as we prepare to expand and improve our Emergency Department. This will entail moving a road, Garden View Drive, which currently runs in front of the Emergency entrance and expanding the building beyond where the road currently lies.
Construction on the new rural health clinic on Skyway is ahead of schedule and is expected to open Spring of 2008. It is really turning out to be an attractive facility for the Ridge community.
Thank you for your continued support and patience as we continue to build for tomorrow and meet the healthcare needs of our community.
